How can procurement be surprised when the business doesn't use the suppliers they selected? How can the business leave their procurement colleagues twisting in the wind with a strategy they have not endorsed?

If we want to have a chance of getting the right deals with the right suppliers, we must align on what we are trying to do.

Check out the business model evaluation tool to drive a constructive dialogue between procurement and the business to agree on the economic model and the relationship model. With that kind of alignment, perhaps the business will understand their obligations to make the right deals with the right suppliers work.
